Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders has confirmed he has made an enquiry to bring St Etienne defender Moustapha Bayal Sall to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Skysports.com revealed last month that the Championship side were interested in adding the Senegal international to their ranks.
The likes of Pascal Chimbonda, Herita Ilunga and El Hadji Diouf have all joined Rovers in recent weeks and Saunders is waiting to see if his interest in Bayal Sall comes to fruition.
"It is not 100%, we have made enquiries but until things are signed it's never done," said Saunders.
"We have got other options as well so we can pull out of things if we don't want to do it.
"He's a big strong centre-back but he is playing for St Etienne and I shouldn't be talking about him."
